Aconda Industrial Carriers, the Essex engineering company formerly known as Tracked Carriers, has been awarded the 2025 King’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation.

The accolade recognises Aconda’s work in helping to change how heavy loads are moved in challenging, confined and hazardous environments, including the construction sector.

Headquartered in Witham in Essex, Aconda designs and manufactures a range of battery-powered, remote-controlled tracked carriers. These compact, high-performance machines can transport up to 4,000 kg across terrain where wheels cannot go — including mud, gravel, stairs and steep inclines up to 45 degrees. They can navigate through spaces as narrow as 750mm, providing load handling in places traditional equipment cannot reach.

“We’re incredibly proud to be one of just 197 organisations to receive the King’s Award for Enterprise,” said founder and managing director Tom Cannon. “This honour reflects the hard work of our team, our dedication to British manufacturing and the game-changing impact our products are having in the field.”
