North Lincolnshire-based Britcon, part of the Hunt Group of Companies, is anticipating 2016 turnover of آ£40m after strong first half growth.
The 2015 total of آ£27m was lower than its owners expected “due to slower pipeline conversion impacted by the general electionâ€.
Britcon managing director Paul Clarkson said: “From late 2015 we saw a surge in opportunity across all key sectors, including energy and renewables, retail, industrial and commercial.آ Although some projects were delayed, a healthy forward order book has allowed us to invest in the team and resources over the last 12 months to facilitate our expected trading in 2016 and beyond.â€
Group chief executive Shaun Hunt said: “Britcon has an excellent team that continues to make good progress as we emerge from difficult times across the industry.â€
Key contracts secured in the last six month includes a آ£13.5m contract to deliver a new anaerobic digestion (AD) plant in Dagenham for food waste recycler ReFood (UK) Ltd, a series of new developments, extensions and refurbishment projects valued over آ£10m for Lidl, and contracts worth آ£3.5m for global chemicals business Kemira.
