At its council meeting yesterday, the Construction Industry Council (CIC) formally inaugurated Ian Brant as its new chair.

The CIC is a forum that brings together 33 institutes and associations that represent built environment professions and trades. Members range from the Royal Institute of British Architects to the National Federation of Demolition Contractors.

“It’s a tremendous honour to be elected chair of the Construction Industry Council for the 2025–2027 term,â€‌ Brant said. “As a fellow of the CIOB, my career has been grounded in collaboration, professionalism and integrity across the built environment. The CIC brings together the collective voice of our diverse members at a time when our industry faces both great challenges and opportunity. I’m committed to driving progress through shared values, innovation and inclusion.آ  I’m also passionate about improving mental health across the built environment sector — an issue that underpins the wellbeing, productivity and resilience of our workforce.â€‌
