The £44.5m leisure centre now under construction in Kingston town centre is being developed by Alliance Leisure for the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.

Main contractor is Pellikaan, working alongside architect Roberts Limbrick and project manager Hadron Consulting.

The new facility will have a 25-metre, eight-lane main pool with moveable floor, a 20-metre learner pool with splash zone, a health suite with sauna and steam room, a 150-station gym, a group cycling studio, three activity studios, a four-court sports hall, squash courts, a soft play area and a café.

Alliance Leisure development director Tom Fairey said: “This is the largest project we’ve ever delivered through the UK Leisure Framework. With a clear brief from the council to deliver the highest quality facilities within a carefully managed budget, we’ve brought together a team with a proven track record of success. We’re delighted to be moving into construction and look forward to seeing the building begin to take shape.”

The facility is expected to open to the public in spring 2027.
