Asif Latief has been appointed to replace Mark Albiston, who left Garic in August after four years as chief executive, during which turnover grew from 拢19m to 拢45m
Latief will join Bury-based Garic on 17th November, working alongside interim chief executive Brian Sherlock for a brief transition period. Sherlock will return to his role as non-executive director on 1st 聽December, when Latief formally assumes CEO responsibilities.
Sherlock, a former managing director of Hewden Stuart, joined Garic鈥檚 board in May 2025 as a non-executive director.
Asif Latief was with A-Plant for more than 17 years, latterly as marketing director, before moving to Boels UK as managing director in January 2020. In January 2024 he moved to Speedy Hire as chief commercial officer but left in July this year.

He joins Garic a year after a market repositioning: formerly associated with site huts, it also now offers a range of static plant including lighting towers and battery energy storage.
"I鈥檓 excited to be joining Garic at such an important moment in its journey.,鈥 Latief said. 鈥淲hat attracted me to the business is its strong set of values, centred around people, trust, and doing the right thing. These values closely align with my own, and I look forward to working with the team to build on Garic鈥檚 reputation for excellence and drive forward its commitment to sustainable site solutions."
Jonathan Lewis, chairman of Garic and chief executive of parent company Bibby Line Group, said: "We are delighted to welcome Asif to Garic. His deep industry expertise and proven leadership make him ideally placed to guide the business through its next chapter. Asif is widely recognised for building businesses that excel in customer service, collaborative culture and operational performance.
鈥淕aric鈥檚 refreshed brand reflects a strategic shift towards innovation, customer value and sustainability. Asif鈥檚 leadership will be instrumental in accelerating this vision, ensuring Garic continues to deliver equipment-as-a-service solutions that meet evolving customer needs and environmental standards."
