Gentoo to spend £47m on Sunderland home improvements

3 days Housing association Gentoo is starting a £47.7m investment programme to deliver improvements to more than 2,800 Sunderland homes, with work to be carried out by RE:GEN Group, Esh Construction, PHS, Bell Group and Isoler.

The programme includes work on external decoration, installation of new kitchens and bathrooms, electrical rewires, installation of new external communal doors, and roof replacements.

Peter Akers, director of asset and sustainability at Gentoo said: “This £47.7 million investment programme is a clear demonstration of our ongoing commitment to improving the quality of our homes and meeting the needs of our customers, both now and in the future.

“We know how important good‑quality, safe and well‑maintained homes are to people’s lives. This programme will make a real difference to more than 2,800 households, and we will continue to work closely with customers to ensure the improvements are delivered with care and consideration.”
