Trading profit for the quarter was آ£159m, compared with آ£114m last year.
Group revenue and gross profit were both up 2%, to آ£3.471bn and آ£93m respectively.
UK sales in the quarter fell 4% from last year’s آ£658m to آ£633m, although this was largely due to the disposal of Brandon Hire. On continuing operations, UK revenue was up 5%. Trading profit form the UK was up from آ£23m to آ£30m.
