Derby City Council (the Council) is undertaking this procurement to establish a contract for the provision of bulking and haulage of Dry Mixed Recycling (DMR) collected by (or on behalf of) the council and delivered by Waste Collection Vehicles. The Council collects c.20ktpa of DMR from households within the Council boundary. In addition, 550tpa of DMR is collected by a third party from commercial premises within the Council Boundary.

The initial contract period is 2 years; the contract is estimated to commence 9th June 2025 and expire 8th June 2027.

There will be an option to extend the contract for 3 years in annual increments, subject to satisfactory performance and business needs. Maximum contract period is 5 years.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement

Derby City Council (the Council) is undertaking this procurement to establish a contract for the provision of bulking and haulage of Dry Mixed Recycling (DMR) collected by (or on behalf of) the council and delivered by Waste Collection Vehicles. The Council has an established Service Provider for the provision of DMR Processing Services which is HW Martin Waste Ltd, Clover Nook Industrial Estate, Alfreton, Derbyshire, DE55 4RF and is due to expire 8th June 2028. Should the option to Extend the term of this (Bulk Haulage) contract be exercised, or upon Termination of the DMR Processing Services Provider, the Delivery Point may be subject to change during the term.

The initial contract period is 2 years; the contract is estimated to commence 9th June 2025 and expire 8th June 2027.

There will be an option to extend the contract for 3 years in annual increments, subject to satisfactory performance and business needs. Maximum contract period is 5 years.
