Gleeson has partnered with a dynamic and rapidly expanding Global business specialising in innovative Warehouse and logistics.
As a Interim Operations Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Warehouse and Transport for the Depot.
Job Title : Operations Manager
Day Rate : Negotiable
Location : On site ( Kent Area )
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day site operations, including staff management, contractor supervision, and visitor control.
- Provide clear leadership, support, and escalation guidance for team leaders and shift managers.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align processing volumes with operational capacity.
- Lead by example in delivering service excellence, meeting KPIs, and ensuring budgetary compliance.
- Ensure all operational activities comply with SOPs, SSOWs, and site policies.
- Manage and develop a high-performing team through coaching and structured performance management.
- Produce regular operational reports and act as final point of contact for site-level issues.
- Own the preparation and management of the annual operations budget.
- Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders to drive service quality and long-term partnerships.
- Promote a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and Lean methodology.
- Ensure full HSE compliance and embed a safety-first culture across the site.
- Lead customer satisfaction improvement initiatives and ensure contract governance is adhered to.
- Conduct formal reviews, reporting cadence, and strategic updates with internal and external stakeholders.
- Act as lead contact for all operational escalations and service-related matters.
- Work closely with procurement, business development, and sector teams to identify cross-functional solutions.
- Support interdepartmental communication to ensure seamless client experience and process efficiency.
Ideal Candidate :
- Proven experience in warehouse, distribution, or logistics operations management.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams in a high-paced environment.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, including C-suite and executive-level communication.
- Demonstrable experience managing budgets, delivering KPIs, and implementing performance improvements.
- Experience with health & safety compliance (NEBOSH certification desirable).
- Strong understanding of HSEQ environments and safety standards ( Food Industry)
- Commercial awareness and commitment to exceptional customer service.
