The administrators of Elements (Europe) Limited have sold a building contract in London, together with associated assets to Korean owned GS E&C Corp, the previous owner.

Telford-based Elements Europe specialised in off-site volumetric design and manufacturing of room modules and bathroom pods for use in residential developments, student accommodation, and hotels across the UK.

The business had been owned by GS Engineering & Construction since 2019 but it incurred heavy project losses after moving into main contracting for the East Road Project in Hackney and the Camp Hill project in Birmingham.

GS E&C has now bought back Elements Europe’s interests in the loss-making contract at East Road, Hackney, London, enabling work to resume on the 21-storey hotel and office development and get it through to completion.

Sam Birchall, managing director at Interpath and joint administrator who led the transaction, said: “Having paused the East Road Project following our appointment, we are pleased to have reached this agreement which paves the way for the completion of the development, and importantly gives a route forward for GS, the employer and the company’s skilled sub-contractor base to return to site in short order.â€

The administrators continue to explore options relating to Elements Europe’s other projects, including the Camp Hill project in Birmingham.
